The DA-NFRDI, in collaboration with BFAR Cordillera Administrative Region, spearheaded a focus group discussion on Fisheries Vulnerability Assessment Tool Data Validation and Mapping for Kalinga and Apayao provinces on April 21 and 22, respectively.
The activity aims to develop vulnerability maps of capture fisheries and aquaculture commodities, which will serve as integral input to the commodities’ value chain analysis. The event was attended by local stakeholders and representatives from provincial government agencies, National Stock Assessment Program, and Provincial Fishery Offices.
Prior to the conduct of FGD in Kalinga and Apayao, the NFRDI, in partnership with BFAR MIMAROPA, had also conducted a virtual focus group discussion on Fisheries Vulnerability Assessment Tool Data Validation and Mapping for MIMAROPA region on March 30-31, 2021 via Zoom.
The Fisheries Vulnerability Assessment Tool Data Validation and Mapping or Fish Vool project of NFRDI aims to conduct and implement vulnerability assessment and institute adaptation measures to fisheries sectors in the Philippines. (GJCalderon)
